Founder of Roots & Blooms Midwifery
I am Ivy Allen, a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) registered with the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and licensed in the state of Idaho proving women and families midwifery care in Southeast Idaho.
I began my midwifery training in 2021 through the National Association of Registered Midwives (NARM) under their Portfolio Evaluation Process which combines education and hands-on experience under the guidance and direction of registered NARM preceptors. I mainly completed my clinicals working in a Wisconsin Amish community.
Alongside my current certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation through the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Adult CPR/AED, I am professionally trained as a birth doula have specialized training in birth emergency skills through Breech Without Borders and Birth Emergency Skills Training (BEST).
My passion for birth advocacy and support stems from personal experience, inspired by my own challenging pregnancy and birth journey. I enjoy empowering families with informed choice and believe deeply in respecting each person's autonomy and providing respectful, supportive care during both wonderful and challenging birthing experiences.
Beyond midwifery, I spend my free time hiking with my son, tending to my house plants, and reading.

I am Emily Allen, a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) registered with the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and licensed in Wyoming, Utah, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. I also hold current certifications in Adult CPR/AED and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Born and raised in Utah, my passion for midwifery began early, leading me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Midwifery from the Midwives College of Utah in 2001. During my education, I also received professional doula training and training in breech deliveries.
After graduating, I practiced for three years before taking a break to raise my family. In 2016, I resumed my midwifery practice, focusing mainly on serving local Amish communities.

Sierra runs her own midwifery practice, Harmony Home Birth, but as midwives and mothers, we know the importance of extra support. If you are a client of Roots & Blooms Midwifery, you may see her around!
I love the miracle of birth and being able to support women in their transformational moments. My passion for birth gradually grew throughout my life. It started as a child when I heard the mesmerizing story of my younger brother’s surprise birth under water. Then in my teenage years, the fascination with natural birth continued as I volunteered at a sheep farm, witnessing countless undisturbed and natural animal births. I became committed during midwifery school and especially after giving birth to my own 9lb baby safely at home to not interfere with the natural process of birth and to trust the women giving birth. I continue to learn invaluable wisdom from each birth I attend and feel honored to serve as a midwife.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling and backpacking with my husband and son, restoring antique furniture, or learning French..
