At Roots & Blooms Midwifery, we are committed to providing personalized care for families seeking out-of-hospital midwifery care. Our midwifery services are available for individuals with low-risk pregnancies, and we offer guidance in determining if an out-of-hospital birth is right for you.
If you have any medical conditions, concerns, or have had a previous pregnancy with complications we recommend discussing them with our midwives during a free consultation.

Our all-inclusive global fee ensures there are no surprise bills at the end of your care and reflects the remaining out-of-pocket balance that most families will end up paying for a vaginal hospital birth with their insurance.
While we don’t accept insurance directly, we do work with a fantastic biller who can help you through the process of submitting a claim to your insurance for reimbursement.
We do accept FSA/HSA. Additionally, out-of-pocket payments can often be applied toward your insurance deductible.
We understand that midwifery care is an investment, so we’re happy to work with you on a flexible payment plan that fits your budget.

The majority of homebirth or birth center transports are non emergent, meaning mom and baby are stable, but in need of care outside of our scope-of-practice.
One of the most crucial skills a midwife possesses is the ability to assess when a homebirth is no longer safe for a mother and her baby.
Despite thorough prenatal care, some complications and emergencies cannot be predicted before labor begins. As midwives, we are trained to manage obstetrical complications and emergencies until paramedics arrive and transport to higher care is achieved. Should an unexpected emergency arise, appropriate action will be taken to stabilize the mother and/or neonate while emergency care is accessed, or transport is initiated.
Stabilization procedures will not delay access to emergency care and may include IV fluid administration, oxygen administration, neonatal resuscitation, administration of anti-hemorrhagic drugs, etc.
